Why do US real estate listings not show floor plans?

Why do US real estate listings not show floor plans? In there country where I live now they are ALWAYS included.
It would be interesting to know how they are generated in my country, but I don’t know.

Wouldn’t it make sense for the seller to have an appraiser draw up a plan — that would make it easier to sell a home, wouldn’t it? In the country where I live potential buyers would feel very uncomfortable not being able to see the floor plan. Every real estate guide (printed or online) shows the plan for every home, or a survey for a lot.
The answers received so far still leave me confused. It would seem to me that creating the floor plans before each new sale, despite the cost of doing so, would make a sale much easier. So far I am hearing either that it is too expensive, or simply hearing a reconfirmation of the status quo.

There must be some cultural or historical background which led to this status quo in the first place. I still wonder what it is.

  1. Janet P says:

The floor plans are usually available for new homes, but not previously owned. You cna get an idea from pictures, but we usually see them for ourselves.

  2. While location may be a big factor in overall cost of your new caravan holiday home, the park accommodations (such as a pool) will also determine if you wish to spend some or all of your holiday stay there. Furnishings, including carpeting, kitchen appliances, and furniture will all be part of the cost consideration and your approval rating as well. Heating and cooling must be considered as well as decking options. Wish to have a hot tub? It can become a reality when you shop for caravan holiday homes for sale in an area of your choice. If you select a smaller, more portable caravan for your holidays you will have more options regarding moving it around and where you wish to place it. Larger units will most often require a permanent location and this is where those extras such as a hot tub or pool can become reality. The whole idea is to make your holidays fun and as comfortable as you wish.

  3. Watch your repair budget. It is easy to underestimate the cost of the repairs that will be necessary. If you do not have enough money to complete your repairs, you will not pass inspection, and you are not very likely to get a good quality tenant. You might get a few people who try to get you to agree to have them pay a lower amount of rent in exchange for them finishing the repairs for you, but that does not work very well very often. If you do not have enough cash, you no longer have control of your property.

  4. I agree, I’d love to see floorplans in the listing. I’ve seen it on a couple of resales round here, but hardly any.
